As it turns out the most important location to have a grab bar installed is at the entrance to the shower stall, especially when there is a bath tub involved. Maneuvering over the side of the tub and into the shower, especially when the floor is wet with no where to hold on to can be a dangerous task even for young and healthy people in their 20s let alone senior citizens.
Mr. Grab Bar’s internal research has shown that most bathroom falls that are reported to them had occurred upon entering or exiting the shower stall.
Please stay tuned for more information on grab bar installations and bathroom safety!
