Grab Bar Installation Info - Dust Reduction

The Pinellas County Grab Bars Blog is consistently on the lookout for the latest tips, advice and information on grab bar installations in Pinellas County. Howard Cohen, a licensed physical therapist and grab bar installation specialist for Mr. Grab Bar of Pinellas County recently sat down with us to give us some information on reducing dust build-up when installing grab bars.

The most critical points in dust reduction during a grab bar installation are as follows:

  • A professional installer should always have a high quality shop vacuum with him/her.
  • It is important that the installer always maintain that the nozzle of the vacuum is in close proximity to where the drillin is taking place. This often means holding both the drill and the vacuum hose at the same time.
  •  A long hose with the vacuum is critical in the prevention of dust build up in the module by keeping the body of the vacuum further away from the nozzle.
  • A professional grab bar installer will always clean up dust as he/she is working so that the dust is cleaned up prior to the completion of the work.

Thank you for keeping up with our blog! Please stay tuned for more grab bar tips from the pros!
