Here is what we learned:
- Use the grab bar as a template to mark all the drill holes with a dry erase marker for glossy tile or a pencil for dry wall and porous tile.
- Next, using a carbide punch and a mallet, score the drill holes by tapping gently.
Doing this properly prior to beginning to drill will ensure that the drill bit does not slide outside of the marked drill hole locations. If this step is not properly adhered to, it could likely lead to scratching of the tiles which won’t be covered up by the grab bar.
