Can Renters Install Grab Bars?

One question that we have received time and time again from our readership is whether or not renters are allowed to install grab bars if they have a disability.

So….we did our research and came up with an answer.

In accordance with the current laws as stated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, landlords are legally obligated to allow any tenant with a disability to have grab bars among many other safety devices installed. You must have a legal disability, so if you are not yet registered as having one, than you must do that first.

For installs in Pinellas County, we recommend Mr. Grab Bar.
